Happy Birthday Dress

Yesterday we went to little G's first birthday party.
She was so cute dressed in pink.  We bought her pink lego and I made a dress!

Here it is!
When she's bigger, this will become a top.

Buttons!

Little ties (oops... took the pic before I cut off the little strings)

My Feature Friday at The D.A.D Project!

Happy Friday everyone!

About a month ago, the D.A.D. (Drawing a Day) Project posted a message on the Toronto Etsy Street Team message board.    They were looking for donations to feature/sell, with  proceeds going directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Serena and her sister Emily take turns doing a Drawing A Day (D.A.D.) and sell prints of these where $10 per print goes to the Canadian Cancer Society. The project is a tribute to their Dad, who passed away from colon cancer last October.

As I have lost several family members due to cancer, I jumped on board and sent Serena a donation for this worthy cause.   (Serena is so nice and wonderful to work with!!).  I donated one of my Toy Leashes (see picture at the bottom of the page) which is now available for sale in the D.A.D. Project online shop.

You can find my Feature Friday donation on their website and on their Facebook page.
Please visit their ETSY shop too!

Time to start thinking about Back to School!

Although it's hard to imagine during today's heat wave, September will be here before we know it.  I love back to school shopping - new pencils, backpacks, clothes.
Here's a lovely ETSY treasury featuring the school theme (and includes my toddler backpack!)

Stroller Bag Heaven

OK... I know the title sounds a little odd but I "heart" my new stroller bag.  I've been designing this bag in my sleep for the past two weeks and just finished it this past weekend.

It has everything I need and allows me to bring what I need vs lugging my whole life.
Available now for sale in my ETSY Shop.

Here is the finished product!

This is what I put inside:
- change pad, diapers, wipes
- nursing cover
- phone, wallet, camera
- snacks

Later I added some extra clothes for the kids.

When I don't need it, I can hang it up

Or roll it up

There are 2 pockets inside for easy access to a cell phone or wallet

Also fits onto my Sit 'n Stand

Cheeky Monkey doesn't complain anymore that my shoulder bag is hitting him in the back :o)

When we no longer need to use a stroller, we can use it with our grocery shopping cart!

ETSY Treasuries

I recently opened up an ETSY shop to sell some of my handmade baby items.
They have this cool feature called Treasuries which is a gallery of photos that are curated by and for ETSY members.  I was featured in several treasuries over the last 2 months!

Here is the wrist wallet

and the Toy Leashes for Sophie the Giraffe. Can you spot the giraffes?

Recipe: Best Banana Muffins Ever!

Today we had a bunch of ripe bananas.  And when we have ripe bananas, we make banana muffins.

I've been using the same recipe for the last 2 years or so.  Find it here at Cat Can Cook.  She calls them her Awesome Banana Muffin Recipe.

Here's how to make it better:
  1. Puree the bananas vs mashing gives a more even consistency
  2. Add some vanilla and some cinnamon
So easy to bake!
I think they are awesome and so does cheeky monkey.

Recipe: Sumertime Pesto

There's nothing better in the summer than a nice pot of Basil (thanks MIL and FIL!)

Look how much I was able to get from one plant already!!

Skill Level: Easy
Items Needed:
Food processor
A medium sized bowl of basil leaves
1/2 cup of nuts
1/2 to 1 cup of olive oil
1/4 cup of parmesan cheese

Average Time: 5-10 minutes

Seriously, look at the size of this leaf!!

So easy to make!

Blend the ingredients in the food processor and toss with fresh pasta.

Taste it... if it needs more of something, add it to the mix and blend again.

So easy to eat :o)

My 2 year old loves his pesto as does hubby.
